Bricks 4 Kidz® camps are a fresh and fun way for kids ages 5-13+ to spend their school or holiday break! Guided by our experienced and screened instructors and built around exciting themes, your camper will enjoy using LEGO® bricks to build specially-designed models, play LEGO® games, and explore the world of engineering and architecture. The camps are 1-day or 5-days long (3 hours each day, morning or afternoon). The engaging model builds will provide fun, hands-on experiences, and your camper will have the best child:staff ratio around (8:1 or 12:2).
If you enroll your child in a camp, what will they DO?
Your camper will rotate between three building stations approximately every 40 minutes. (An optional station will be available, in case your child finishes early.) The three stations are: technic build (motorized models that really move!), 3D figure build (using classic LEGO® bricks), and Perler™ build (a mosaic design, using Perler™ beads)! All equipment (i.e. kits with LEGO® bricks, Kindles, motors, battery packs, speed remotes, and Perler™ beads) will be provided! They will get to work with a new building partner each day! The optional station will have two different building possibilities: (1) mosaic build which uses LEGO® 1×1 bricks to create a picture or (2) creative build which uses interesting LEGO® bricks which your child has probably not seen before. During the camp, your child will get a 15-minute break (preferably outside) to eat their snack, brought from home, as an energy booster!
If you enroll your child in a camp, what will they GET to take home with them?
For a 1-day camp, your camper will get to take home the following: a custom-built mini figure from the Bricks 4 Kidz® mini figure factory (or a premade one), a Perler™ creation, and emailed photos and/or videos of their model builds.
For a 5-day camp, your camper will get to take home the following: a custom-built mini figure from the Bricks 4 Kidz® mini figure factory (or a premade one) with an accessory (i.e. binoculars, shovel, broom, etc.) given on Friday, a Perler™ creation every day of their choosing with Friday’s being glow-in-the-dark, a lanyard with a brick tag (aka dog tag) specific for that camp, a Bricks 4 Kidz® T-shirt, and emailed photos and/or videos of their model builds each day.
The camp themes are:
Bricks 4 God: Each day a new technic model is built during the 5-day camp, based on Bible stories: Jacob’s vision of a stairway to heaven, Joseph’s horse-drawn chariot, floating baby Moses down the Nile River, adult Moses parting the Red Sea, and strong Samson. Plus, the instructor will also read a Bible story each day during the break time about these Bible stories. Hands-on learning to grow their faith!
Game On: Over 150 models to choose from by your camper, based on game themes, such as Beyblades, Minecraft, Nintendo & SEGA themes, Duck Hunt, Pacman, Sonic the Hedgehog, & Zelda, Pokemon, Roblox, Super Mario Bros, and the LEGO® Masters Television program.
Movie Mashup: Over 150 models to choose from by your camper, based on their favorite movies, such as Angry Birds, Bat League Heroes & Villains, Bricks 4 Girlz, Despicable Me, Disney movies, Finding Nemo, Frozen, Harry Potter movies, How to Train a Dragon, Incredibles, Jungle Cruise, Jurassic Brick Land, LEGO® movies, Ninjago, Star Wars, Super Hero Academy, Teen Titan Go, Teenage Brick Turtles, Toy Story, Transformers, and World of Wizards (e.g. Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts).
Robotics with Micro:Bits: Digital technology is transforming our lives. An ability to understand and create practical hands-on projects, using such technology is important. The Robotics with Micro:bit summer camp, offered in Red Oak only, will aim to meet this need. In this camp, students will be introduced to the Micro:bit, a mini computer. They will receive an introduction to hardware, programming, and robotics using Micro:bits. The challenges presented will enhance computational thinking and logical reasoning. This one-week camp is designed for an older age group from 8-14. They will need to bring a laptop with them to camp, and at the end of camp, they will take home a Micro:bit and a Cutebot along with the 5-day camp items, except the Perler™ creations.
